When we asked young people in Dungannon what they wanted to see in the area we were struck by the number of people who wanted to seek someone for advice or help in certain areas.
We have contacts with different professional crisis counsellors that deal specifically with young people in a number of areas.
It is also possible to talk to any one of our staff team about issues such as self-harm, mental health, eating disorders, sex, etc. You can even do this outside normal opening hours.
We work very closely with the Naimh Louise foundation (so closely in fact that their office is in the same building!). We recommend you look up their site if self-harm, suicide or mental health is an issue for you. Their website can be found at Niamh Louise Foundation. All of the staff at Morph are trained in suicide awareness and intervention so don't hesitate to approach any of us if you need to talk about yourself, a freind or a family member.
All the staff are available to talk to at any time. We do promise confidentiality with anyone who wants to talk to us but we cannot promise secrecy. If you are at risk or someone else is deemed at risk we may have to refer the matter to someone else.
We also organise what are known as Freedom in Christ sessions. Anyone can be held back by baggage from the past: personal and spiritual conflicts; wrong ways of thinking; sin-confess-sin-confess cycles; or simply an inability to live out what they believe. They know that Jesus meant it when He said He would set them free but somehow they don't seem to be able to connect with that truth in practice.
Freedom in Christ Ministries exists to help people resolve these issues by understanding the truth about their identity in Christ and the spiritual battle they are in. These are opportunities for people to pray through some issues that hold people back from walking in freedom. Have a look at the Freedom in Christ website and see if you would like us to set up a meeting for you.
