MORPH Morph has undergone huge changes over the last year. From operating a Drop-IN we have moved instead into project work. Our office is open to an advice centre Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
Morph provides a "Prayer Room" where young people can explore their own spirituality and runs 24-7 prayer weeks throughout the year.
Some of the activities that MORPH has organised or taken part in is detailed below:
Projects that aim to develop skills and occupy young people with healthy, useful and creative activities.
In the Annaghshee Estate we run a Kids club on a weekly basis.
Currently we are the only constant cross-community, international youth project in the area. We prefer to build relationships with everyone than do projects that look into stereotypes and prejudices. This is because we are aware of a large number of young people who don't carry about with them the prejudices of older generations. We do however address some subtle prejudices in the midst of our relationships. We do occasionally do a cross-boarder/cross community project but never as a a means to access money.
This year we are facilitating a sports project in conjunction with the Youth resource centre - using football to tackle antisocial and violent behaviour.
Trips that develop social skills and social inclusion.
Starting in Oct we are taking to the streets and opening up a base in Thomas Street, Dungannon for Friday and Saturday Night detached work. We will be meeting people on the streets and making sure they are able to get home okay and get any help should they need it.
The Drop In is the hub for much of the activity mentioned about to work from.
